Be certain that you know exactly how to properly operate the exercise equipment. This includes equipment in your home gym, or in a regular gym setting. Serious injury can result from falls, or from getting any body parts, including hair, feet, and hands, caught in parts of the exercise machines.

Have the Proper Type of Gear

Dress not only for the weather, but also for visibility. During the early morning hours or just around dusk, it can be very difficult for drivers to see runners or bikers who are not properly attired. Wear light colored, loose-fitting clothing in the warmer months, and layers that are easy to peel off in the winter. If you choose to run or bike in the evening or early morning, always wear reflective clothing such as reflective strips or a vest, and the lightest colors possible.
